This Ministry Changed My Life
It has been 21 years since I came to the local church. I was 33 and a high school teacher at that time. I grew up attending church but without the understanding or experience of having a personal relationship with the Lord. I had a Bible but never read it very much. Then I met a fellow teacher who kept telling me that Jesus was real to her. I thought she was kind of strange yet I went to a Bible study with her and the very first night I was captivated by the opening of the Word of God. The message shared about four things: the tree of life. The river of water of life, precious stones, and man. These four things are mentioned in Genesis 1and 2, then they are developed throughout the Bible and finally these same things are shown in their consummated form in Revelation 21and 22. They had been builded into the New Jerusalem. That night I realized the Bible was divinely inspired and not just stories or myths put together. I could believe what it said.
Shortly after that night I found out the meaning of my human life- that I was created as a vessel to contain God. Also that there was a purpose or goal to my human life- to be built up to be a member of Christ's corporate Body, the church. God has one Body constituted of many members and each member has a measure of Christ and a function in His Body.
This was the beginning of how the Word of the Bible has been opened up to me for my experience and enjoyment of the Lord Jesus.
